My saja suka-suka post

I was pleasantly surprised this morning when I found out that my previous post, for no apparent reason, made it to WordPress’s Top Posts yesterday. Checked the stats and my eyeballs nearly popped!
My blog had 498 views then, 242 views today.
The post itself got 347 views yesterday,155 views today.
If I HAD expected (which of course I didn’t) any of my posts to have that much hits, I certainly didn’t think it’d be the one about my bone-fractured-swelling-cast-wearing foot! Hahahaha…It just tickled me that my foot got more hits than my Kenny post. LOL.
***
So, since I’m feeling amused, I thought I’d just put up something amusing…maybe. ;p

WHATS THE NEXT CD YOU’RE GONNA GET?
I don’t buy CDs…I burn em. Lol.

Want to play tag? If you want, you do the questionnaire lah…if don’t want, no need ler. LOL.
2. Something for you to try:
(You will need a calculator or a pen/pencil and paper. LOL.)

1. key-in the first 3 digits of your handphone number (not the 01x number) into the calculator
2. multiply by 80
3. add 1
4. multiply by 250
5. plus last four digits of phone number
6. plus last four digits of phone number again
7. minus 250
8. divide by 2

Is it your handphone number???? 8)
…..
And that’s the end of my pointless post.
Can’t believe you actually read it…heeee…;p

Just a sprain. NOT.

Last Monday night, I had my bro and sis-in-law take me to the Emergency/Outpatient Unit at the Kuching General Hospital. My foot was swelling and quite red then…
My ugly bloated foot!
…but I wasn’t worried. It was just a sprain…
The only reason I wanted to go to the hospital was to get an MC. (I didn’t want to limp my way to work the coming days.)
Foot sprain only maa…I didn’t need to see a doc.
So I thought…
When I saw the doc, an I-don’t-know-how-to-describe-it conversation took place…
Doc: You came [to see a doc] for the swelling or pain?
Me: For MC.
No lah…I thought of answering that…but here’s what I really answered:
Doc: You came [to see a doc] for the swelling or pain?
Me: Both.
Doc: I send you go for X-Ray first then you come back here.
Me: X-Ray? Need X-Ray meh?
Doc: You fell down what. X-Ray lah…then what you want?
Me: MC? Oh.
Doc: It may just be some soft tissue injury but you go X-Ray firstla then come and bring the film here.
So…go lah for X-Ray….
The lab technician took 2 shots of my foot then waited awhile for him to develop the print.
When he gave me the film…
He: “Ada patah.” (Got something broken.)
Me: “APA?!” (WHAT?!)
He: “Ada patah…Takpa lah…Pergi jumpa doctor dulu.” (Got something broken…Nevermind…Go see the doc first.)
What was going through my head?
He’s kidding me…
He’s pulling my leg…
He can’t be serious…
But the doc confirmed it…

My bone got fractured…
Can see the fractured part?
Zoomed in…OUCH!
He sent me to get my foot cast…
And told me to come back this coming Wednesday to the Specialist Unit to see how my foot is then…
Another X-Ray…
Hopefully, good news this time…
And I don’t have to wear a cast again…
*prays*
But from what I hear about fractures, they’ll just open my cast, X-Ray my foot to see if there has been any improvements and send me home with a new cast and then I’ll have to come again, X-Ray again, new cast again…over and over again…
*Sigh*
Well, I got that MC I wanted…
I was on sick leave from Tuesday to Thursday.
Yesterday (Friday) I didn’t go to work either…
I have been stuck at home, with a foot cast and using crutches…
But I can’t just stay home until I can walk on my own again…
That will be in what? One month? Two?
*Sigh*
I don’t have the ability to regenerate/heal…and I can’t teleport
So Monday, I’ll have to drag my feet up those stairs to work…(The office is on the 2nd floor)…which is a feat that I can’t imagine how to accomplish with an immobile foot and a pair of crutches…

Hiatus much…

This will be brief:
Sorry I’ve not posted anything for like 3 weeks dy…
There are more than a few reasons (which I can hopefully post up soon…)
Mainly being:
1. My convocation weekend
2. My after-convo weekend burn-out
3. My Gawai weekend
4. My after-Gawai aftermath
And currently, as Arch has mentioned, I am nursing an injured foot (not leg)…”Not that serious”…(Certainly hope not!)…but then again, I am wearing a cast and using crutches…so…(-_~)”
Wish me the speediest of recovery people…Keep me in your prayers!

Thinking…

On the way to work last Thursday, my brother and I were waiting at one of the many traffic lights as usual, when he spotted his ex-housemate’s car…His ex-hsemate used to be an assistant branch manager at one of the many KFC outlets in Kch here. Now he works as salesman at Toyota. He used to ride a motorbike. Now he has a VIOS.
Wowwww…
And in just 3 years…
Wonder where I’ll be in 3 years…Hmmm…
So naturally, when we sms-ed that night, I mentioned it to Arch and that perhaps I should have stayed in the auto industry (I was with FORD a year ago for industrial training). Whether he knew it that day or not, really struck a nail with me when he replied:
“Auto, not now. If you’re in s’wak, my advise is go into plantation or forestry. Why? These are blooming activities. Auto..world sales are falling down…hit hard on Euro and US company. But the recent slump also affects Asian auto makers. Toyota, Mitsubishi, Honda all go down except for Korean auto. Why? Cos they produce compact cars…It’s expected la. I mean eco slumps happen once in a decade. Now is the time. Unemployment rate this year also will go up. 1997 was last slump, now 2007. Before that 1986 and 1977, if not mistaken. That’s the pattern lor..those with jobs better hang on to it. Or you will face the wrath of the merciless great slump…”
Wah! Well…I’m hanging on alright…LOL…
And then yesterday, I suddenly was in a dilemma when I was asked if I was interested to apply for an accounts job at one of the (big? can say laa…got many branches) supermarkets in Kuching and it is also a company listed on the 2nd Board (KLSE)…I was in a dilemma cos I wasn’t sure of whether to remain in audit or move into accounts…I AM STILL in a dilemma…The accounts job might give me better pay than my current job…but I’ve only worked for like 2 mths…increments are semi-annually…maybe I’d earn more if I stayed? I dunno…It’s not just financial here…I’m thinking experience worth too…which is more worthwhile? What do you guys think? Better in audit or accounts? (Zewt, a professional opinion called for here. LOL.)
Speaking of jobs and all…one job which I feel is pretty neat is to be a DJ, a VJ or a host like in Quickie…all you need to do is talk maa…I THINK I could be that…provided I had a crazy co-host to “repel” my nervoustomakeafoolofmyselfinpublic-ness. LOL…I know lah, sure DJs and VJs and hosts will tell us, “Hey! My job not as easy as you think okay?!”…but just let me imagine that it is…Hehe…
*Imagines*
=D My fave radio station is Hitz.fm and my fave show is The Breakfast Show…so you should already know that my fave DJs are JJ and Rudy, The Morning Crew…and of course, my fave slot: Gotcha! Makes the drive to work everyday not so gloomy…hehe…
Another equally neat job would be to be a columnist…have your own column…get paid to write…that’ll be cool…but then, if columnists, sure got “censorship” issues…this cannot write, that sensitive, etc, etc, etc…not to mention got “pressure” to come up with something to write…hehe…but having a blog makes me feel like “columnist” sometimes…minus the censorship and lil bit less pressure lah (yeah…still got pressure also. LOL.)
And of course, everyone’s got to have wanted to be this when asked “What do you wanna be when you grow up?”
I wanted to be…
An artiste (singer, performer, actor)…I did…actually, part of me still does but…show biz is very unstable…you are either WAY UP THERE or way down here…
The only time I’ve ever sang in public was on my bro’s wedding dinner…that also after most of the guests have already left…lol…I THINK I can sing…but you’ll only ever be sure after Simon Cowell or Paul Moss give you a thumbs up or call you a “disaster”…Hehe…tough one show biz…which is why I’m just blogging about it and not actually in it. Lol.
Hmm…this post seems to have rollercoastered from Economics to Career to Showbusiness…I’d better stop now.
Leaving you with this *umm* interesting piece of info from my Friendster bulletin.
Enjoy! =)

HOW DO YOU DECIDE WHO TO MARRY? (written by kids)
(1) You got to find somebody who likes the same stuff. Like, if you like sports, she should like it that you like sports, and she should keep the chips and dip coming. – Alan, age 10 (Opposites attract leh?)
(2) No person really decides before they grow up who they’re going to marry. God decides it all way before, and you get to find out later who you’re stuck with. – Kristen, age 10 (True. So True.)
WHAT IS THE RIGHT AGE TO GET MARRIED?
(1) Twenty-three is the best age because you know the person FOREVER by then. – Camille, age 10 (I’m 24. Oops!)
(2) No age is good to get married at. You got to be a fool to get married.
– Freddie, age 6 (very wise for his age)
HOW CAN A STRANGER TELL IF TWO PEOPLE ARE MARRIED?
(1) You might have to guess, based on whether they seem to be yelling at the same kids. – Derrick, age 8 (hahaha…hilarious!)
WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR MOM AND DAD HAVE
IN COMMON?

(1) Both don’t want any more kids. – Lori, age 8 (*speechless*)
WHAT DO MOST PEOPLE DO ON A DATE?
(1) Dates are for having fun, and people should use them to get to know each other. Even boys have something to say if you listen long enough.
– Lynnette, age 8 (Sweet…)
(2) On the first date, they just tell each other lies and that usually gets them interested enough to go for a second date.
– Martin, age 10 (He said boys do not have brains)
WHAT WOULD YOU DO ON A FIRST DATE THAT WAS TURNING SOUR?
(1) I’d run home and play dead. The next day I would call all the newspapers and make sure they wrote about me in all the dead columns.
-Craig, age 9 (And he’s only NINE…)
WHEN IS IT OKAY TO KISS SOMEONE?
(1) When they’re rich. – Pam, age 7 (Haha…)
(2) The law says you have to be eighteen, so I wouldn’t want to mess with that.
– Curt, age 7 (Smart.)
(3 ) The rule goes like this: If you kiss someone, then you should marry them and have kids with them. It’s the right thing to do.
– Howard, age 8 (Responsible fella ain’t he?)
IS IT BETTER TO BE SINGLE OR MARRIED?
(1 ) I don’t know which is better, but I’ll tell you one thing. I’m never going to have sex with my wife. I don’t want to be all grossed out.
– Theodore, age 8 (I think he’d changed his mind when he was older.)
(2 ) It’s better for girls to be single but not for boys. Boys need someone to clean up after them.
– Anita, age 9 (DAMN RIGHT.Haha..)
HOW WOULD THE WORLD BE DIFFERENT IF PEOPLE DIDN’T GET MARRIED?
(1 ) There sure would be a lot of kids to explain, wouldn’t there?
– Kelvin, age 8 (hahahahahaha….that would be messy wouldn’t it?)
And the #1 Favourite is……..
HOW WOULD YOU MAKE A MARRIAGE WORK?
(1 ) Tell your wife that she looks pretty, even if she looks like a truck.
– Ricky, age 10 (FUH! Boys will be boys.)

Time…Come and Gone.

Briefly: I don’t get what this whole issue about Man-U-FIFA-FAM-Malaysia thing is all about…so…*blur*…but I do agree with Bong that “sungguh dalam the irony.” LOL.
***
Wow…time sure flies…it already almost the end of May…my birthday was last week and now next week, I’ll be heading to the Peninsular for my convocation…
I’m thankful that it’s not gonna be a solo journey…I would have liked it if the whole family could come up to Shah Alam for my convo (again) but due to budget constraints…I’ll just be me, my mom and my older bro.
Mom will come up to Kch on 22nd and then the three of us will fly to KL on 23rd. We’ll be staying at CSS so that should relieve the finances a bit…but then there’s still expenses I have to plan properly so we don’t exceed the tight budget…Preferably, I will be able to cover all the necessary costs…
I have the feeling that this coming trip will be the last time (in a long while if not never) I’ll be stepping on Peninsular grounds…after almost 3 years studying there, my “home away from home”…this may be the last goodbye…I’m gonna take back all my belongings that are still in my rented place in Shah Alam and when we leave for Kch again on the 27th (my convo on the 26th), I can pretty much predict it is with a heavy heart that I’ll be leaving…
I still remember the first time I went to Peninsular 3 years ago…It was my first time out of Borneo. I was 21…(Wah…so long time ago!)…and it was the first time I flew in an Airbus! Damn big when you’ve only been in a Boeing…so anyways, after arriving in KLIA, my friends and I (all first-time to Sjung one) used airport taxi (van actually since we had lotsa luggage) to go to Shah Alam…first thing we did was got “dumped” in front of Hotel UiTM cos the Uni didn’t provide us with accommodation…lame, I know…and the Hotel FULL some more…so we sat on the steps of the hotel and brainstormed where we’d stay that night…4 girls abandoned in a foreign place…fortunately we had each other’s company…
So we ended up crashing at a friend’s cousin’s place in Shah Alam (that friend also our “batch” but arrived few days earlier) for a few days…then crashed at another friend’s hostel room while waiting for our hostel room application to be approved…alas, they got a room but I didn’t. But 3 of us made a pact earlier on (“All for one, One for all”) so we started looking for a rented house…and we’ve never looked back ever since…
Almost a happy family, we stayed together for 1 and a half years with 3 other “batch”-mates but sometime along the way, some friendships crumbled, some grew stronger…and in the 2nd year, we went our separate ways…two moved out because they couldn’t see eye to eye with the others anymore…I moved out because I had to plan for the coming year. (I was the only one whose course took 2 and a half years. The others were to finish by 2nd year.)
So, my 2nd year…new house, new housemates, 9 of us…and this one just lasted 3 mths…I was really pissed off then when EVERYONE was planning to move out and conveniently FORGOT TO TELL ME!…2 weeks before the move, ONE of them finally told me. I had 2 weeks to find shelter so to speak…I couldn’t stay at that house alone…The rent was freakin expensive! That’s why there were NINE of us…
Desperate, I agreed to move in with 3 of the nine and “let bygones be bygones”…turned out not so bad actually…it was after this “leap of faith” that I really got to know my current housemates as well as “patch things up” with my old housemates (but the misunderstandings didn’t involve me exactly…I just happened to be in the middle of it. LOL)…My 3rd year was the best year I had in Sjung…I got to go to Planet Hollywood, Melaka, Putrajaya, The Curve, made new friends (Bong in particular. LOL.), …but still…so much I’ve yet to do…
Next week, I plan to…
AT LEAST have a proper farewell with my friends who are still studying/working there…just some “closure”…a proper goodbye…
And I HOPE to be able to go on the Eye on Malaysia…that’s NOW or NEVER cos that’ll only be in Taman Tasik Titiwangsa (TTT) – wherever that is – for Visit Malaysia Year 2007…so if you’re in Sjung and you have a car…I may call for a favor…puh-lease….pretty pppplllleeeeaaaasssseeee? *cough*Bong*cough*
TREAT my MOM to an all-expenses-paid *hopefully* “jalan2” and “makan2”…I want her to see where I’ve been living the past 3 years…also, I can never thank her enough for bringing me up to be the person I am now so…it’s the LEAST I could do…I want to make it a memorable “vacation” for her since it’ll just be me, my bro and her…she could use the break from being a full-time Mom (no house chores, no cooking, no worries)…at least for those few days…
And…LET MYSELF GOFREE of commitments, NO work…ALL play…all FUN…so people…be ready to get your hair down…I WANT TO PAINT THE TOWN RED!…or PINK at least…LOL.
*prays* Hope I can accomplish all that in a few days… (^_^) ”
Ready or not, Shah Alam…here I come…
